Ossining Wrestler Wins Section One Title, Achieves All-State Status

The Ossining High School wrestling team is celebrating the outstanding achievements of Tristan Robinson-July, the star wrestler who has won the 160lb Section One Championship title and earned All-State status. This is a tremendous honor for both Tristan and the Ossining Wrestling program.

Tristan made a strong start to the 2022-23 season, dominating opponents with his impressive technique and fierce determination. The 160-pound wrestler continued to improve throughout the year, refining his skills and pushing himself to new heights. In the NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships, Tristan faced off against the best wrestlers in the state, but he refused to back down. With unwavering focus and unrelenting effort, he fought his way to the podium placing 8th in all of New York State.

The Section One title is a remarkable accomplishment, placing Ossining tied for second place for producing the most champions in Section One Wrestling history. But Tristan didn't stop there. Later in the season, he went on to achieve All-State status, earning recognition as one of the best high school wrestlers in New York State. He’s only the 18th person in Ossining’s history to achieve All-State status for wrestling, a feat that hasn’t been achieved by the program since 2018.

Tristan also reached another milestone this year earning his 100th career win, something that hasn’t been done in Ossining since 2019. Tristan will finish his high school wrestling career with a record of 138 wins and 55 loses, with 94 of his wins earned by pinfall. He is currently 6th place all-time on Ossining Wrestling’s wins list.

Ossining High School wrestling coach, Tom Larm, expressed his pride in Tristan and his team, stating, "We are incredibly proud of Tristan and all of our wrestlers who have worked tirelessly this season. Winning the Division One title and achieving All-State status is a testament to the dedication and hard work that Tristan has put in, and we are excited to see what he will accomplish in the future."

Tristan has become a role model for his teammates and the entire Ossining High School community. His achievements have inspired others to work harder, believe in themselves, and pursue their dreams with passion and dedication.
