Plowable Snow Possible This Week; Restoring Power First Concern

A snowstorm may be on the way as 100,000+ customers remain without power from last week's nor'easter.

All right, March, we get it. You are a lion. And the roaring continues as the National Weather Service says there's the potential for "a plowable snow" in just a few days.

As far as the snow threat goes, Wednesday is the day to watch. Hudson Valley Weather is currently predicting snow for the Hudson Valley most the day. HVW predicts more than four inches of snow could fall; other forecasters say "a plowable snow is possible."

Hudson Valley Weather offers up this five-day forecast:

  • Sunday: Breezy. Clouds dispersing at night. High around 40 degrees F, low in the 20s.
  • Monday: Very cold - highs below 40 and lows could drop into the teens. Breezy and partly cloudy.
  • Tuesday: Snow showers possible late in the day. Highs around 40, low 30-35 degrees. Moderate snow could develop overnight. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
  • Wednesday: Wet snow by midday, heavy at times, four inches or more possible. Chance of precipitation 60 percent. Tapering off to snow showers after midnight; more accumulation possible.
  • Thursday: Blustery and cold.
