Police Say Man Tried to Smuggle Marijuana into Sing Sing Prison

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Hawthorne Barracks arrested Omar Taylor, 43, of Middletown, NY, for Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers were dispatched to Sing Sing Correctional Facility Nov. 23 to assist the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision with a subject in custody for entering the facility with marijuana.

The State Police were assisted by the NYS DOCCS Office of Special Investigations.

Taylor was issued an Appearance Ticket ordering him to appear before the Town of Ossining Court Dec. 9.
