UPDATE: Victim Drowned off Tellers Point

Friends told police they were fishing and he decided to go for a swim.

The search for a man who was fishing with friends and decided to go in swimming off Tellers Point was called off last night and expected to resume today.

Police and firefighters from across the region had worked all day to find the man or retrieve his body.

The responders included teams from Croton-on Hudson, Ossining, Peekskill, Mahopac Falls, Yorktown, Verplanck, Cortlandt and Briarcliff Manor as well as Westchester County.

UPDATE: Police and firefighters are searching off Croton Point for a drowning victim.

According to Kempter's Fire Wire, a witness told first responders that a man went under.

After searching for 90 minutes, divers were out of the water and the efford moved into recovery mode. Radar and sonar was deployed to help find the man. Along with marine units from many local departments, the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services was on scene.
