Poughkeepsie Woman Accused of Stealing Ossining Woman's ID
and using it to avoid traffic tickets

On Jan. 12, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Ivorey Wells, 32, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Identity Theft 2nd Degree, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
In December of 2015, Troopers were contacted by an Ossining woman who reported that someone had used her identity during a traffic stop that took place in July of 2015. Following a detailed investigation, it was discovered that Wells had used the victim’s name and date of birth during a traffic stop to avoid being issued traffic tickets.
Wells was arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond, before an appearance date in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court.
