Power Outages In Ossining, Croton

Some homes and businesses are without power due to the powerful storm.

OSSINING, NY — Some homes and businesses are without power and traffic lights are out in north Ossining. Some roads are closed in Croton due to downed trees.

During the height of the 'bomb cyclone' early Thursday morning, two transformers malfunctioned in the north end, Ossining police said.

  • Old Post Road North in both directions between Lounsbury Road and Brook Street due to a tree on wires.
  • Cleveland Drive in both directions between Benedict Blvd. and Arlington Drive due to a downed tree.


In Croton there was also a transformer fire overnight which has created a power outage on Hamilton Avenue and Van Wyck Street. Con Edison is aware of the outage, but has not provided the Village with a time-frame of restoration. Additionally, there are power outages being reported in the area of Cleveland Drive and Arlington Drive due to the downed tree.

In Ossining, a police officer is directing traffic on Route 9 at Van Cortlandt Avenue.
