“To have a world-renowned educator like Dr. Noguera take the time to speak to our school district is truly an honor and we appreciate his time,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ray Sanchez. “His valuable insight helped to shed light on our unique community in a new way that will only benefit and inspire our staff and teachers as we move forward and adjust to new post-pandemic realities.”

Dr. Noguera, who joined the community virtually, presented “Educating the Whole Child: Planning to Address the Needs of Students and Schools After the Pandemic.”

“The goal of the summit is to create a plan for the 2022-2023 school year and receive commitment of support for programming and opportunities for Ossining school district families and students,” said Ossining Community School Leader Megan Mastrogiacomo.

Ms. Mastrogiacomo said the programming focus areas include family/adult engagement, Saturday programming, Parent Academy, and mentoring/tutoring.

The summit offered participants the opportunity to get to know each other through informal conversations while working together to support and expand the work OUFSD is doing throughout the community.
