School, Village, Town And Indian Point Oversight Meetings Upcoming

OSSINING, NY — As the new year begins, our local officials are still busy conducting the public's business in plain sight.

John Adams famously wrote, "Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right … and a desire to know."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week in Croton-on-Hudson and Ossining.

The Ossining Board of Education will meet in Executive Session only for the purpose of conducting interviews and discussing personnel matters starting at 7 p.m. Monday in the First Floor Conference Room at the district's administrative offices, 400 Executive Blvd.

The Croton-on-Hudson village Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Municipal Building on Van Wyck Street.

Ossining village Board of Trustees' Legislative Meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Building and on zoom. The Civilian Police Complaint Review Board will present a review of their work over the past year.

The town's Planning Board also meets Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. at the John-Paul Rodrigues Operations Center on Route 9A.

The Ossining school board will meet again at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Anne M. Dorner Middle School. It will focus on the topic: Equity: Budget Update. It is anticipated that the Board of Education will enter into an Executive Session following the Board meeting to discuss personnel matters. No formal action will be taken.

A joint meeting of the Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board and Indian Point Closure Task Force will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St.

The Croton-Harmon Board of Education will hold a business meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the CHHS Community Room.
