Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Ossining & Croton.
Ossining girls basketball
Not that we didn't know it already but Ossining proved that its No. 1 seeding in the Section 1 Class AA Tournament was well deserved as it blew out a solid No. 4 John Jay-EF squad 106-66 on March 1 in the semifinals of the tourney at the Westchester County Center in White Plains according to LoHud.com.

Ossining advances to the title game at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4 at the county center, against another Dutchess County team, No. 3 Our Lady of Lourdes, who comes from Poughkeepsie.
Croton-Harmon boys hoops
No. 6 Croton-Harmon enjoyed an incredible season on the hardwood as it earned a trip to the Section 1 Class B semifinals at the county center against No. 2 Albertus Magnus.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, they could not overcome the defending Class B champions as they fell to the Falcons 72-44 on Feb. 29.
Croton-Harmon was led by Wes Turner’s 12 points and four steals.
Teammate Ian Thom was right behind with 11 points.

County Center Action
In addition to the Ossining girls squad, there is plenty of other action in the Section 1 boys and girls basketball championships at the county center this weekend with Class A and Class AA boys semifinal games today.
Championship games in all classes for both boys and girls then will follow on Saturday and Sunday.
See LoHud.com for the latest results and pairings.
