ShopRite Raises $1M+ During 10th Annual Vets Fundraising Campaign
All proceeds benefit local veterans groups.

From ShopRite:ShopRite today announced its tenth annual Veterans Fundraising Campaign, held at 35 stores throughout New York and New Jersey, raised over $1 million to benefit local veterans organizations. To support the initiative, ShopRite stores throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital Region in New York, along with three New Jersey stores, collected donations at checkout from May 25 through August 4 and coordinated fundraising events including 5K runs and walks, food drives, pancake breakfasts and corn hole tournaments, with all proceeds benefitting local veterans groups.
The results of the 2018 campaign were announced during ShopRite’s annual golf outing, where a check was presented by ShopRite executives and team members from this year’s top three fundraising stores: ShopRite of Vails Gate, ShopRite of Montgomery and ShopRite of Montague. Funds raised will be divided among veterans organizations including The Tower of Hope, Committee for Families of War Veterans, Hudson Valley Honor Flight, Orange County Veterans Food Pantry, Tri County Council for Vietnam Era War Veterans and Unified Military Affairs Council, in addition to other local organizations that serve communities within ShopRite’s trading area.
“We take great pride in supporting veterans and their families within the communities we serve, and are proud to announce that we have raised over $1 million as a result of our 2018 fundraising campaign,” said Tom Urtz, vice president of operations, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. “There is a large concentration of veterans in the areas where our store associates live, work and play, so this cause is very near and dear to our hearts. We would like to thank our generous customers, associates and vendors, whose support allows us to make a difference year after year.”
