Showers Mixed With Thunderstorms: HV Holiday Weekend Weather

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — There's a chance of showers somewhere in the region every day of the upcoming 3-day weekend, though those chances will diminish as the days go by.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday and Saturday — not, however, as severe as in the South, where AccuWeather forecasts warn of damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.

The chance of rain will be 80-90 percent on Friday and Saturday, dropping to 40-50 percent on Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime temperatures, in the upper 70s Thursday and Friday, will drop on Saturday but return on Sunday and Monday. It'll be decent sleeping weather, with lows in the upper 50s at night.

It will be humid Saturday and Sunday.

The official start of summer is next week, as the summer solstice will occur at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday.
