Hinds, police said, was employed as a corrections officer on May 30, 2015 at Sing Sing in Ossining where she knew that the victim was an inmate in custody of the state Department of Correctional Services.

On that date, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Hinds said she engaged in sexual intercourse with the male victim while in the officer’s station inside the housing block.

McCarty said the sex act occurred at a time when the victim was incapable of consent by virtue of his being an inmate in the care of the state.
