'Sizeable' Water Main Break In Croton: Update
The Water Department completed repairs to the water main along North Riverside Avenue.
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The Water Department completed repairs to the water main along North Riverside Avenue. Pressure should have returned to the water system in the area of North Riverside Avenue between Farrington Road and Grand Street Tuesday evening.
Residents and businesses in the affected area should flush the water system in their building, village officials said:
Begin with the highest tap (faucet) without an aerator (a bathtub spigot is preferred) in your home, and then open other faucets one at a time, moving from your highest floor to your lowest floor. If the dwelling is one story, use the fixture closest to where the water service enters the building. After five to 15 minutes, or until the water is clear and any air in the line is depleted, turn off your faucets and tub spigot(s) in reverse order, from lowest to highest.
Village officials notified residents at 11 a.m. that a sizable water main break had occurred along North Riverside Avenue near Hudson View Automotive.
