Snow flurries across the region Sunday morning are expected to bring only a dusting in places. The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for part of the Hudson Valley at 7 a.m.

For Dutchess, Ulster counties:

A period of light snow will continue to overspread the mid Hudson Valley region and Litchfield County in Connecticut through 8 AM this morning, before tapering off from west to east between 8 and 9 AM. Localized accumulations of a dusting, to up to one half inch will be possible during this time. Expect locally slippery travel conditions and reduced visibilities to occur through 9 AM.

Temperatures will be seasonal today and tonight, then a warming trend will commence on Mon as a warm front approaches and rain develops from the south. Rainy and increasingly mild weather can be expected New Year`s Eve, as the warm from approaches after dark and passes overnight, the NWS said.
