Snow Squalls, Arctic Freeze: Hudson Valley Thanksgiving Weekend
Small Business Saturday may feel balmy in comparison.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Get this. Ahead of the arctic cold front coming our way, highs Wednesday should be 5-10 degrees below normal. If you're traveling upstate or into New England, beware of snow squalls in the afternoon until about 8 p.m.
Then it's going to get really frigid.
According to the National Weather Service, wind chills late tonight should be around 0 across the Lower Hudson Valley.

On Thanksgiving, if you've got a local football game or are headed into New York City for the Macy's parade, or just used to walking off dinner, better break out more than just the long underwear.
"This is nearly unprecedented cold and wind chills for this time of the year and some region records will likely be broken," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

The coldest Thanksgiving Day on record in NYC had a high of 22, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Jesse Ferrell.
The National Weather Service predicts it will be blustery and cold on Thanksgiving, with highs mainly from around 20 to the middle 20s and wind chills by afternoon of only around 10 to 15 degrees.
That's going to make Black Friday feel positively balmy (just kidding.) There will be much less wind. It will also be not as cold, with highs generally from around 30 to the mid 30s.
By Small Business Saturday, things will warm up. It will be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon and highs in the upper 40s. And Sunday will be even warmer, with highs nearing 50. The chance of rain will be 60 percent. That's not enough to prevent you from contributing to your community's economy.
