Central Hudson Customers Waiting For Electricity Monday


7:17 a.m. — Westchester County police report two accidents and two disabled vehicles on county parkways in the past hour. The National Weather Service warns that roads will be slippery until temperatures rise above freezing by mid-morning.

6:30 a.m. — Bedford Road is down to one lane, due to a downed tree, between Old Bedford Road and Petersville Road, New Castle police report at 6:30 a.m.


The National Weather Service warns of slippery road conditions with the third of back-to-back-to back snowfalls ending.

Snow or a wintry mix will be coming to an end shortly wherever it already hasn`t. Temperatures across the area will however remain around freezing through the morning commute, so any untreated surfaces will likely be slippery. Use extra caution if you plan to travel this morning as road conditions may be hazardous.

Rockland County TRIPS paratransit buses have a delayed start of 9 AM. Rides scheduled before 9 AM today will not be picked up.

Westchester parkways are slightly snow-covered and trucks are plowing and salting, county police reported at 6:20 a.m. So far in the storm police helped 13 disabled vehicles and responded to five crashes.

Westchester's Bee Line: Due to inclement weather, please take extra precaution when accessing bus stops that may be slippery due to snow.

In Putnam Valley 41 customers are without power, NYSEG reports.

Some schools have closed and many have announced delays. Expect updates through 8 a.m.

Dutchess County

  • 3 miles ESE of Fishkill 6.8 inches as of 1:44 AM
  • Red Hook 2 inches as of 1101 PM

Orange County

  • Middletown 4.8 inches as of 152 AM
  • Vails Gate 3.0 inches as of 1105 PM

Putnam County

  • Brewster 7.8 inches as of 231 AM
  • Putnam Valley 5.8 inches as of 1235 AM

Rockland County

  • Spring Valley 5.0 inches as of 1200 AM
  • Nyack 3.5 inches as of 1145 PM

Westchester County

  • White Plains 5.0 inches as of 1215 AM
  • Jefferson Valley 5.0 inches as of 1039 PM
  • Armonk 4.0 inches as of 1045 PM
