HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The first day of spring is this week, and the Hudson Valley may see some snow the next day, forecasters say. There's a chance of snow showers Thursday morning across the Hudson Valley except along the coast of the Long Island Sound.

There's not much chance of anything sticking; in fact, it's expected to turn to rain. Still, it's of a piece with the rest of the week: temps more like winter than summer, with lows in the 20s and 30s through Friday.

Still, it will be warmer during the day than it was over the past weekend.

"While this will not be as warm as it was late last week, it will be an improvement over the recent chilly stretch," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson.

Plus, forecasters point out, the sun is so much higher in the sky that it feels milder outside anyway.
