Temps To Rise, Then Plummet: Hudson Valley Forecast

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Warmth will return briefly on Tuesday, but then plunge across the region — even into the 30s Wednesday night.

Temperatures should hit 80 degrees F before beginning to drop after sunset Tuesday, which will be at 8:08 p.m.

Again it will be a sunny week, except for clouds on Tuesday night. No rain is expected until the weekend, and even then there's only a 40 percent chance of showers.

"Our entire HVW area is dry once again and wildfire chances are high," Todd Snow of Hudson Valley Weather said on Facebook this weekend.

Here's the five-day forecast based on Yorktown:

• Monday Afternoon - Sunny, with a high near 75. West wind 9 to 11 mph.
• Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 51. West wind around 8 mph.
• Tuesday - Increasing clouds, with a high near 79. West wind 9 to 14 mph.
• Tuesday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. West wind around 11 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
• Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 61. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
• Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 36.
• Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 66.
• Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 43.
• Friday - Sunny, with a high near 69.
• Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.
