Temps Will Climb Through Memorial Day Weekend: Hudson Valley Forecast

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Looks as if the long holiday weekend will be mostly sunny, with a few clouds coming and going and a chance to get hot on Memorial Day.

The storm front Wednesday brought cool temperatures that will last through Friday. In fact, Friday morning, patchy frost capable of causing some damage could occur as far south as the Hudson Valley and northern Pennsylvania, AccuWeather meteorologists warned.

Then temps will build over the weekend, until by Monday we'll be thinking about where to cool off.

"At the beaches, conditions may remain dry and tranquil much of the weekend in New England and for the first part of the weekend on Long Island," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist. "Farther south, especially from the Delmarva Peninsula to North Carolina, conditions will become windier and wetter, if not downright stormy from the Virginia Capes to areas farther south."

Here's the NWS five-day forecast based on Rockland County:

• Thursday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
• Tonight - Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 40s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.
• Friday - Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Friday Night - Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 40s. Northeast winds around 5 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable.
• Saturday - Sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. North winds around 5 mph, becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
• Saturday Night - Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 50s.
• Sunday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s.
• Sunday Night - Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s.
• Memorial Day - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 80s.
• Monday Night - Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s.
