Two Ossining Seniors, Set Designer Nominated for Metro Awards

Ossining High School is proud to announce that two of its talented seniors, Frank Marrero and Derek Rudley, have been nominated for Metro Awards in recognition of their outstanding performances in the acclaimed production of "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying." In addition, Steve Loftus has received a nomination for Best Set Design. These nominations mark a significant achievement for the Ossining drama club and highlight the remarkable talent within the school's theater program.

The Metro Awards, presented annually by the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre, shine a spotlight on the exceptional musical theater productions, talented actors and actresses and devoted creative teams who take to the stage every spring in high schools in Rockland, Westchester, Putnam and Bergen counties.

Frank Marrero has been nominated for the prestigious award of Best Leading Male for his portrayal of J. Pierrepont Finch. Demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication, Marrero brought the charismatic and ambitious character to life with finesse. His performance captivated audiences, showcasing his versatility and command of the stage.

Derek Rudley has been nominated for Best Supporting Male for his portrayal of Bud Frump. Rudley's portrayal of the conniving and opportunistic character was characterized by impeccable comedic timing and an ability to evoke both sympathy and laughter. His performance showcased his exceptional range as an actor and left a lasting impression on all who watched.

Additionally, set designer Steve Loftus has been recognized with a nomination for Best Set Design. Loftus masterfully brought the world of "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to life, creating a visually stunning and immersive environment for the cast and audience alike. His meticulous attention to detail and artistic vision elevated the overall production to new heights.

The winners of the Metro Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony to be held on June 12, 2023 at 7:00pm at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY.
