Thunderstorms Threaten Rockland, Westchester, Putnam

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms, said the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service warns of a strong thunderstorm moving west to east across Rockland, the Hudson River, Westchester and eastern Putnam counties.

At 115 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Upper Nyack, or over Ossining, moving northeast at 15 mph. Another strong storm just southeast of Buchanan in Westchester County was also moving northeast at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms.

Locations affected include Stamford, Ossining, Peekskill, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Mahopac, Sleepy Hollow, Carmel, Bedford, Upper Nyack, Yorktown Heights, Hawthorne, Putnam Valley and CrotonOon-Hudson.
