Ossining boys fall to PHS

One couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere than a jammed-pack gym between two long-time Route 9 rivals on a Friday night which was the case when Ossining traveled to Peekskill on Jan. 13.

Peekskill was able to feed off its frenzied crowd by getting off to a 21-8 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 75-53 boys basketball triumph.

Bayron Carter scored a game-high 20 points for Peekskill, including three 3-pointers. Teammate Kyree Hull contributed 12 points to the win.

Ossining was led by 10 points from Stiven Espinoza-Hunter as he went back to the gym he once called home and seven from Carmine Gemei-Gerrity.

JV played too

Peekskill and Ossining's JV boys basketball squads hooped it up beforehand, with the Red Devils winning a thriller 66-63.

Sharing team-high honors for the Pride were Brandon Gomez and Sean Trenholm with 13 points apiece. AJ Stokeley was also in double figures with 11 points.

Leading Peekskill and scoring a game-high 16 points apiece were Neorck Brown and Jay Cabel. Teammate Anthony Guerrero was right behind with 15 points.
