Torview Swim and Tennis Club Gears Up for 58th Summer Season
Local pool club now accepting new memberships
Remember the good old days when you could play stickball on the street, roam the neighborhood with your friends until it got dark, and spend lazy summer afternoons at the local swimming hole? Did you know that you can offer your kids the outdoor freedoms of yesteryear at the Torview Swim and Tennis Club right here in Ossining? It sure sounds good in this age of video games and binge watching Netflix. Torview, which has been creating great summer memories for local residents for 58 years and one of Ossining’s best-kept secrets, is currently accepting new memberships. Starting this season all local volunteer firefighters and EMT’s receive a $350 discount off the onetime initiation fee.
Torview has 13 acres for kids to explore, a pristine 25-meter pool complete with diving boards, a kiddie pool, basketball courts, a platform tennis court as well as Har-Tru tennis courts, and fields perfect for pick-up baseball games. The pool area is also an enclosed, safe space where kids can wander solo while parents can feel confident they’re secure.
Torview will launch their 2015 summer season for member families beginning Memorial Day weekend. Members and their guests can cool off on the hot and humid early days of summer and enjoy all the club has to offer. Additional amenities include swim and tennis lessons, family events for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day, and after-hours events for kids, moms, and dads. The Club will also host the third installment of Torviewpalooza, where members and local musicians share their talents under the stars.

Torview dates back to 1956, when World War II veterans came home to Ossining to raise their families. They rallied together as a community and raised funds to build a swimming pool on a small parcel of land in the town of Ossining. In the decades since then, the Club has grown and become a spot for generations of local families to enjoy their summers year after year.
“We are excited to open another great season filled with fun, relaxation and family-friendly events,” said Bob DeMaine, President of the Torview Board of Directors. “Torview is just a great place for local families to spend their summers.” Member-owned and operated, Torview Swim and Tennis Club is conveniently located just off route 9A on Stormytown Road.
