Town, Village, School Board Meetings Coming Up

OSSINING, NY — Dwight D. Eisenhower famously said, "Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson.

The Cortlandt Town Board will hold a work session starting at 6. p.m. 1 Heady Street,
Cortlandt Manor.

Tuesday

Ossining village Planning Board, 7 p.m. John Paul Rodrigues Ossining Operations Center, 101 Route 9A. Among the agenda items:

  • A revised proposal, approved in 2019, to renovate 19 Campwoods Road and add two stories for five apartments
  • A proposal to construct a third-floor addition of four residential units at 14 Church St.
  • A proposal for a 48-unit apartment building on Snowden Avenue at the end of the Van Wyck Street cul-de-sac.

Wednesday

Croton Conservation Advisory Council, 7:30 p.m.

Ossining Board of Education, 7:30 p.m. in the Anne M. Dorner Middle School cafeteria. The Board will conduct a Work Session focusing on Equity: Continued Budget Discussion. It is anticipated that the Board of Education will enter into an Executive Session following the Board meeting to discuss personnel matters. No formal action will be taken.

Ossining village Board of Trustees, 7:30 p.m., Municipal Building.

Ossining Town Planning Board, 7:30 p.m. John-Paul Rodrigues Operations Center.

Croton-Harmon Board of Education, 7:30 p.m. in the CHHS Community Room
