*****Greater Ossining Chamber Announces the UPTOWN Business District Initiative
and the first Beautification of UPTOWN Project*****
(OSSINING, NY) The first meeting of Ossining’s UPTOWN businesses was held on April 30, 2015

at Dragonfly Yoga Studio on Croton Avenue in Ossining. Several business owners attended and
collaboratively shared ideas to begin addressing the beautification and needs of the newly
branded UPTOWN Business District which consists of businesses on Croton Avenue,
Pleasantville, and Campwoods Roads.
The first UPTOWN project will be held this Friday, June 5, 2015 beginning at 11am. The Village
of Ossining Sanitation Department will be covering the UPTOWN area for special cleanup and
garbage pickup. UPTOWN business owners are strongly encouraged to participate and spruce
up the area and sidewalks in front of their stores and offices. Flyers motivating participation
have and will continue to be distributed. If additional information is needed contact the

Mike Risko-Risko Music, has been named by the Chamber of Commerce as the Uptown Liaison
to this exciting initiative. He will be the initial “go-to” person for UPTOWN activities and report
to the Chamber for guidance and support. Omar Herrera, Deputy Mayor and Chamber Liaison,
has been instrumental with Village collaboration on special projects and reviewing legislation to
address landlords of abandoned properties that have become an eyesore in the UPTOWN area.
“We are placing a great deal of emphasis on the positives of bringing our UPTOWN businesses
together and instilling pride and motivation to the area. The physical presentation of this much
needed boost is just the beginning of great things to come” stated Gayle Marchica, President of
the Greater Ossining Chamber.
