The annual Halloween Window Painting is being coordinated with participating stores throughout the Village. National Prescription Drug Take Back DaySaturday, October 23 | 10 AM – 2 PMCroton CommonsThis Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) event is conducted to encourage community members to properly dispose of unused medications. The medications are collected, secured and picked up by a DEA officer. The DEA then incinerates the medications. All at no cost to the community members. Over the years, they have collected 100s of pounds of unused prescriptions which gets this medication out of homes and keeps our community members and their families safe. Pre-Holiday ArtfestSaturday, October 23 | 10 AM – 4 PM1392 Albany Post RdLocal Artists will be selling their work at this outdoor Croton event. Handcrafted Pottery, jewelry, fused glass, woodwork, home and holiday decor, photography, florals, macrame, herbal apothecary items, soy candles and baked goods will be available, Croton Caring Committee will be present to collect food donations for upcoming holiday. Halloween Dog Parade & Costume ContestSaturday, October 30 | 2 PMCroton LandingOn Saturday, October 30th at 2 PM, bring your dog in costume to Croton Landing Park for the Halloween Dog Parade! There is no sign-up required and participation is free.A contest will be held to find the best-dressed dogs. A $10 donation to compete for prizes is asked. Proceeds go to the Croton Caring Committee and Paws Crossed Animal Shelter. The winning dog will have their photo placed in the Gazette.Please note that all dogs must be, healthy, licensed with tags, have unexpired rabies shots, play well with others, and be on a leash in order to attend. Please clean up after your dog and stay on the parade’s path.
