Visitation, Service for James C. Schlichtman

The longtime Ossining resident was 95.

James C. Schlichtman, a longtime resident of Ossining, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was 95.

He was born on September 28, 1919 and was the son of the late James and Ann (Brennen) Schlichtman.

James served honorably in the U.S. Army during WW II with the 87th Infantry Div. and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion Parker Bale Post, where he served for many years as the Chaplain. He was also a longtime communicant of St. Augustine’s Church.

Mr. Schlichtman is survived by his three children Barbara (Tom) Doorley, James and Marion (Daniel) Whalen; his sister Ruth (Bob) Stanley ; 7 seven grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marion in 1990, his siblings Ethel Bale and Harold Schlichtman.

Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Augustine’s Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
