He was born September 29, 1944 in Ahoskie, NC to Gussie & Thelma (Cherry) Edwards. Gussie worked for the VA in Montrose as a Chef.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Willie Jean Edwards, children Janice Edwards, Gussie Edwards III, Bryan Edwards, Dean Edwards, Debra Edwards, Stephanie Edwards, Robin Edwards, Denise Edwards, Gussie Edwards II, step-children Robert Allen, Bernadette Allen, his brothers and sister, cousin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.

He will be reposing Thursday 11am-12pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. Funeral Home 32 State St. Ossining where services will begin at 12pm, burial to follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
