Visitor Carries Weapon into Prison, Ends up in Jail

OSSINING, NY - New York State Police arrested Tyshawn Plowden, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony.

Police allege Plowden entered Sing Sing Correctional Facility with a weapon on March 19. He was there to visit an inmate.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Plowden was arraigned at the Town of Ossining Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
