Snow, Sleet After Rain, Warmth: Hudson Valley Forecast

It'll be another wild ride this week, with a 30-degree change in temperatures and the chance of snow near 100%.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The workweek will start with an inch or so of rain, warm up to temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal, then chill down and probably end with snow and sleet.

"This flip-flop in the weather pattern will take place in just a few days, leaving residents wondering what season it is," said Courtney Travis, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

First comes the rain. We could get an inch of it by Tuesday night.

Then comes another surge of warmth that could challenge records. We're talking highs in the 60s from Westchester to Dutchess.

After that, temps will drop, and after that, we could see another round of wintry mix. The National Weather Service puts the chance of snow on Friday near 100 percent.

"After a cold day on Thursday, we'll be monitoring the potential for a winter storm Thursday night into Friday," said Hudson Valley Weather. "The details of that potential winter storm are still very fuzzy, but some combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain appear possible for our Friday."
