Westchester Woman Accused Of Stealing Drugs From Rehab Center Pharmacy: Police

The 39-year-old Buchanan resident faces a felony and several misdemeanors in the theft of narcotics, Croton-on-Hudson police said.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — An investigation has led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley woman in connection to the theft of drugs from a rehab center, according to police.

The Croton-on-Hudson Police Department says that 39-year-old Asia J. Carey, of Buchanan, was arrested and charged with felony first-degree falsifying business records, in addition to several counts of misdemeanor petit larceny and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 5, police received a report that narcotics were missing from the pharmacy at the Sky View Rehabilitation & Health Care Center on Albany Post Road.

Patrol officers responded to the center and interviewed several employees to gather information.

The Detective Division launched an investigation, and worked in conjunction with the NYS Dept. of Health Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement. Police say hours of video footage were reviewed and additional staff members were interviewed.

Once a suspect was identified, detectives arrested Carey on March 16.

She was issued an appearance ticket to be arraigned in the Village Justice Court on a future date.
