After Initial Budget Defeat, Locust Valley's Budget Revote Results Are In

The results are in for Locust Valley Central School District's revised 2026-27 budget vote.

LOCUST VALLEY, NY — After the first budget vote failed in May, Locust Valley residents voted once more, with votes leaning in favor of the new district budget.

Locust Valley Central School District residents voted on a revised budget on June 16, which has passed. The revised budget was reduced to $99,987,243 with a tax levy increase of 1.78 percent.

The new budget was passed by a vote of 1407-874.

The district said, "all academic and extracurricular programs have been preserved," and reductions were made in administrative professional development, facilities, equipment, and business office contracts.

On May 19, residents rejected the proposed $100,251,364 budget with a tax levy increase of 2.1 percent for the 2026-2027 school year.

The initial budget failed by a vote of 850-765.
