Grandson of famous mob boss to be sentenced after, at one point, asking for reduced time due to a kidney transplant (longislandpress.com) — A federal fraud case tied to an Oyster Bay resident’s family is moving toward sentencing, after a bid for leniency based on a planned kidney donation was withdrawn. Prosecutors say Carmine Agnello, whose mother Victoria Gotti lives in Oyster Bay, admitted filing false pandemic loan applications and is expected to face 33 to 41 months in prison.
5. Town launches ‘Back the Blue' ribbon campaign (jericho-news-journal.com) — Oyster Bay officials are inviting residents to show support for law enforcement by displaying free blue ribbons during National Police Week, May 10–16. Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board are coordinating the campaign, and residents can request complimentary ribbons directly from the Town of Oyster Bay.
