LOCUST VALLEY, NY — Three businesses have been displaced after a building fire in Locust Valley on Monday afternoon, fire marshals said.
The Locust Valley Fire Department responded to Elm Street after NC FireCom received 911 calls reporting a roof on fire at 1:29 p.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
Firefighters discovered a fire on the outside of the building, whose address matches Cosmo Tile & Stone, spreading to the roof and interior, fire marshals said. The fire was under control within 35 minutes with 50 firefighters on scene – mutual aid assistance from Sea Cliff FD, City of Glen Cove FD, and Bayville FD, all under the command of Chief Sandstrom, fire marshals said.
No injuries were reported, but three businesses have been displaced, fire marshals said.
According to NCFM, there is moderate damage to the building and the Town of Oyster Bay Building Department was on scene evaluating. NCFM Investigators and NCPD Arson/Bomb detectives were on scene to determine the cause of the fire, which is currently still under investigation, fire marshals said.
