Oyster Bay resident and Oyster Bay–East Norwich Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Reilly said that the event will support the Chamber's ability to purchase new lighted holiday decorations for town.

"It's important for us to create an atmosphere that not only the residents will enjoy, but that will bring visitors to the hamlet to support our businesses," she said.

Each year, the Chamber is responsible for maintaining the holiday snowflakes that are put on display on the utility poles throughout Oyster Bay and East Norwich.

The current decorations are more than 20 years old: "So time for the next generation of lights."

Tickets can be purchased at the door and patrons are encouraged to participate in the raffles and 50/50 raffle.

More about Wednesday night's fundraising event can be found online. Information about the Light the Holidays iniative can be found online as well.
