The educators gathered on August 26 to meet administrators, connect with one another, and get oriented to district systems, with leaders expressing confidence they will strongly support local schools.
   

• Last chance for late Town of Oyster Bay taxpayers to settle up (liherald.com) — Town of Oyster Bay homeowners who missed the Aug. 10 property tax deadline can still pay their 2026 general taxes by Aug. 31 with a 2% penalty and avoid extra interest and fees. After that date, unpaid bills shift to the Nassau County treasurer, making it costlier and more complicated to settle what's owed.
