Elise Kim is a semifinalist with a chance at scholarship awards, while classmates Samuel Brenner and Aari Gupta were named Commended Students for scoring among the nation's highest PSAT takers.
3. Residents 'fall' in love and renew vows with the Town of Oyster Bay (longislandpress.com) — Couples from across the Town of Oyster Bay recently gathered at Town Hall to renew their vows in a fall-themed ceremony led by Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Town Clerk Richard LaMarca. More than 30 pairs, from newlyweds to those married over 60 years, reaffirmed their commitments in what officials call one of the town's most meaningful community events.
4. Boxing News: John Gotti III Avenges His Loss To Daniel "Eagle Catcher" Augare In Hartford Rematch (fightnews.com) — An Oyster Bay native, John Gotti III, just avenged last year's knockout loss with a unanimous decision win in a Hartford rematch, improving to 3-1. Local fight fans may be especially interested as he's now eyeing a possible rubber match in MMA, while several New England and New York fighters also scored notable victories on the same card.
