Annual Oyster Fest Returns to Oyster Bay October 17th & 18th (longisland.com) β Oyster Bay's signature Oyster Fest returns October 17β18 to downtown streets and Theodore Roosevelt Park, bringing food, rides, music, and shell-recycling volunteers together. Residents can enjoy local oysters, meet Savannah Bananas players, and take advantage of a sensory-friendly family hour Sunday morning, but should plan ahead for limited parking and shuttle options.

Planting Fields Arboretum Acquires The Famed Wollemi Pine (longisland.com) β Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay has added two extremely rare Wollemi pines, among the few specimens on public display in the United States and likely the only ones on Long Island. Visitors can see them in the Main and Camellia greenhouses, open most days, alongside the Arboretum's historic grounds and collections.

4. October 8, 2026 Events on Long Island (longisland.com) β Oyster Bay residents can meet bestselling author E. Lockhart tonight at the Gold Coast Forum, where she'll discuss and sign her new novel, The Pools, from 7β9 p.m. It's one of many Long Island happenings today, ranging from theater and fundraisers to art shows and family activities across the Island.

Oheka Castle facing Bankruptcy Auction Sale (thenorthshoreleader.com) β A landmark just over the HuntingtonβOyster Bay town line, Oheka Castle is headed to a bankruptcy auction on October 27 after its owner's holding company fell deep into debt. The famed Gold Coast estate, long used for weddings, films, and events, faces an uncertain future and questions about previously approved townhouse plans on its grounds.
