LOCUST VALLEY, NY — A man died after falling from a roof in Locust Valley Thursday, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the incident took place at 11:25 a.m. Second Precinct officers responded to a Forest Avenue residence after a report that a man that had fallen from the roof, detectives said.
Upon arrival, police observed a 51-year-old man lying on the ground with severe head trauma, police said.
It was determined that he fell from the first-floor roof after losing his footing, police said.
He was transported to a local nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
