Oyster Bay – The Water Lovers’ Mixer returns to Oakcliff Sailing in Oyster Bay for the 5th
year in a row, Friday, April 24 from 6 to 8. This is a free event but registration is required and reservations will be closed after the first 500.
This has become the unofficial kickoff of the season for all interested in marine activities. Members of the greater boating public have traveled from Manhasset to Northport and from Sayville to Centre Island to make connections, share experiences, enjoy the hotdogs and snacks, and energize themselves for the summer ahead.
The mission of one of the primary founding partners, Friends of the Bay, is to preserve, protect and restore our waters. We are excited to welcome EOM Electric and bioaqualife®
to the party. They will educate boat owners and marina operators about their environmentally friendly products, electric outboard motors and biodegradable shrink wrap.
In addition to EOM and bioaqualife®, the legendary hot dogs and refreshments, are sponsored by Oakcliff, Friends of the Bay, Sagamore Yacht Club, Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, Oyster Bay Community Rowing, Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club, the WaterFront Center, Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron, Oyster Bay Brewing Company and Regatta Craft Mixers.
“Oakcliff is the world’s premier training and coaching center for sailing,” said Dawn Riley, Oakcliff executive director. “It was designed to fit in between the established marine organizations in Oyster Bay’s historic and eclectic culture. The big news this year is that we, and all of Oyster Bay have a new waterfront view as ‘the tanks’ have come down!We can’t wait for all of you to see.”
“We’re excited about building on the success of the past five years, with a regular turnout of 300 plus, to get more people out on the water and appreciate Oyster Bay and help protect it,” said Bill Bleyer, president of Friends of the Bay. “We’re glad that Oakcliff has agreed to hold the event again this year.”

Join us on Saturday, April 25th &amp; Sunday, April 26th from 12:00–4:00 PM as we welcome visitors back to our Historic Station Building and Rail Display Yard. Explore engaging exhibits, step aboard historic locomotives, try out our M7 and DE/DM simulators, enjoy train and/ or turntable rides, our Garden Railway, an O Scale operating layout, and browse the Museum Gift Shop.
Don’t forget to check out the Museum’s TRAR™ mobile app, where Theodore Roosevelt brings history to life in an immersive experience during your visit!
