Cops: PSEG Phone Scams Continue
How to tell if the person on the other end of the line is a scammer.

Glen Cove is currently experiencing a rash of PSEG phone scams, authorities said.
Scammers have been calling PSEG Long Island customers, claiming to represent the utility and demanding immediate payment using a Green Dot Money Pak, which is a type of pre-paid card available at pharmacies and convenience stores, according to Glen Cove Police.
Police say that PSEG-LI does not accept these prepaid Green Dot cards. In addition, PSEG-LI customers who are scheduled for disconnection due to nonpayment receive written notice on their bill at least 10 days in advance.
