Couple Up, Long Island: Love Island Finale Watch Party Coming To Oyster Bay

The iconic waterfront bar will transform on Sunday as fans gather to watch America's favorite villa couples compete for the win.

OYSTER BAY, NY — As fans across the country prepare to vote on their favorite couple and watch the final moments of Love Island USA, Long Islanders will have the chance to experience the season finale together at a waterfront watch party in Oyster Bay.

Cooper Bluff will host the event Sunday evening, giving fans a chance to enjoy cocktails, views of the Long Island Sound, and the last of the villa drama as this season's winning couple is revealed.

Cooper Bluff Owner and Bayville resident Rustan Lundstrum said he is looking forward to this weekend's watch party because these events bring people together.

"Too many people are divided by politics and caught up in social media feuds in today's world," he said. "Being social and participating in community events is what builds culture and togetherness."

Since opening in 2019, Lundstrum has organized a variety of community events, including drive-in movies at the Coach Meeting House during the pandemic.

More recently, Cooper Bluff and Sunset Club drew large crowds for New York Knicks watch parties, demonstrating the desire for shared viewing experiences and human connection.

Lundstrum said requests for Love Island and World Cup watch parties have poured in from patrons. The venue had planned to host a watch party for the show's Casa Amor episode on June 22, but the event was canceled due to rain.

With Cooper Bluff increasingly serving as an outdoor waterfront entertainment venue, he said the season finale presents another opportunity to bring people together.

With events like these, Lundstrum said the goal is simple: getting people outdoors and enjoying life together.

"You get into the restaurant business to serve people and make them happy," he said. "Creating an experience that makes people happy is what motivates me; that's what fulfills me as a restaurateur."

The bar will be installing a 16x9 projector movie theater screen to watch the finale on Sunday, July 12, at 9 p.m. There will be no cover charge, and Cooper Bluff does not take reservations, so to guarantee a couch and firepit, folks are encouraged to arrive early. Their food truck and bar will be open and located at 5 Bay Ave. in Oyster Bay.
