Drunken Driver Flees Arrest, Runs Into Oncoming Traffic: Police
The man was observed swerving in and out of lanes on the Long Island Expressway on Monday morning, police say.

A drunken driver tried to flee arrest on foot after he was pulled over on the Long Island Expressway on Monday morning, police say.
According to authorities, officers pulled over a 2007 Nissan Altima, driven by 37-year-old Middle Island resident Jordan Randolph, for straddling lane markers, swerving between lanes and failing to signal a lane change in the eastbound lanes near Exit 40 in Jericho at 4:30 a.m.
Officers approached the vehicle and observed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Randolph's breath along with watery eyes and slurred speech, police say.

When Randolph was asked to exit the vehicle to be placed under arrest, police say he started to flail his arm, pushed the officer away and fled on foot northbound across the Long Island Expressway to the north Service Road and into oncoming traffic.
Randolph was placed under arrest after he was seen running westbound on Jericho Turnpike at Simpson Street, police say.
