Eagle Scout Candidate Plans Rain Garden in Plainview
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Sept. 6.

An Eagle Scout candidate plans to create a rain garden at the Plainview Water District’s main plant.
Mikey Milana, a scout from Troop 423, held a pancake breakfast on Aug. 30 to raise money for the rain garden, a flower garden that filters pollutants and allows the water to slowly filter into the ground, preventing damage from storm runoff.
Attending Saturday’s breakfast were Leg. Judy Jacobs and Plainview/Old Bethpage Water Commissioner Andy Bader.
