Farmingdale BOE President Appointed To Town Ethics Board

The Town Board unanimously appointed Michael Goldberg as the newest member of the Board of Ethics.

Press Release From the Town of Oyster: Continuing their ongoing commitment to increase transparency and ethics in the Town of Oyster Bay, Supervisor Joseph Saladino and members of the Town Board appointed Michael Goldberg of Farmingdale as the newest member of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Board of Ethics.

Supervisor Saladino stated, “I welcome Mr. Goldberg to the Board of Ethics and thank him for volunteering his time to serving the public on this important committee, which helps advance accountability and transparency in government. To restore the public’s trust in government, my administration appointed this new independent Board of Ethics, as well as an Inspector General who once worked with the CIA, FBI and DEA. Together, we demand the highest level of ethics and accountability in government.”

On March 10, 2020, the Town Board unanimously appointed Mr. Goldberg as the newest member of the Board of Ethics. Mr. Goldberg is President of the Farmingdale Schools Board of Education, with over 15 years of accomplished finance experience in the private sector. He is currently a controller of a $90 million privately held healthcare staffing company located in Lake Success.

Since taking office in 2017, Supervisor Saladino and the Town Board have taken swift action enhance ethics and demand accountability in government through the appointment of a new, independent Board of Ethics with real and meaningful oversight. Together, the Town Board and Supervisor have instituted disclosure requirements for contractors, vendors and high level employees to prevent conflicts of interest and misdeeds. An individual who previously worked with the FBI, CIA and DEA was hired to serve as the Town’s first-ever Inspector General to protect the wallets of taxpayers by overseeing contracts and procurement.
