PHOTO #1: Dave Gugerty, legislative candidate for District 18, recently spent an evening at Cold Spring Harbor Lab with DNA research pioneer Dr. James Watson surrounded by 600 of his fellow scientists, post-doc students and admirers celebrating 45 years there. "How incredibly lucky are we to have world class facilities such as this in our backyard?" said Gugerty. Additionally, there was a festive barbeque in honor of the Chancellor Emeritus of the lab where he and Dr. Crick deciphered the structure of the DNA molecule.

"Originally from Nigeria, he has been researching pancreatic cancer at the lab while pursuing his degree at Stony Brook."
