Man Charged With Robbery, Attempted Robbery in Oyster Bay
The Oyster Bay man stole a woman's wallet and tried to grab another woman's purse while fleeing the scene Friday, police said.

A 20-year-old Oyster Bay man was arrested after police said he robbed an 18-year-old woman and attempted to rob a 57-year-old woman in Oyster Bay on Friday night.
According to authorities, Patrick Allen grabbed the 18-year-old’s wallet as she was attempting to pay for her ice cream inside Carvel, located at 2 Audrey Ave., at 7:35 p.m.
A struggle between Allen and the woman ensued for the wallet, causing Allen to damage the front door as he fled with the proceeds on South Street, police said.

Allen then, while fleeing, attempted to steal a woman’s purse, but he was unsuccessful due to the 57-year-old holding onto the purse’s strap, police said.
Allen was located a short time later on Audrey Avenue and Maxwell Avenue and was placed under arrest.

He was charged with third degree robbery, third degree attempted robbery and third degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
No injuries were reported.
