Man Charged with Luce Restaurant Burglary

Police say man broke into East Norwich Ristorante, took bottle of liquor.

A Locust Valley man faces burglary charges after being accused of burglarizing an East Norwich restaurant Saturday morning.

Nassau County Police reported that Jose Fuentes, 20, of Locust Valley, broke the side window of Luce Ristorante on Oyster Bay Road and entered the eatery at 12:02 a.m. Saturday. Fuentes took a bottle of liquor and left through the front door, police said.

Responding officers headed to the scene after receiving a call for an alarm and found Fuentes walking on the sidewalk from the parking lot entrance to the restaurant, cops reported. The bottle of liquor was found in the bushes outside the restaurant, police said.

Fuentes was arrested at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Fuentes is charged with third degree burglary. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
