OYSTER BAY, NY — An Oyster Bay junior earned a top rank at a the Charles Duggan Long Island Science and Engineering Fair.

Chrysta Thomas took third place in the medical category at the regional competition against other student researchers.

At the competition, students present their work to panels of people, including professionals from local universities, institutions, and industries.

Only the top 25 percent of students in each category can advance to the second round. Thomas competed in both rounds and earned the third-place spot.
