The Piano Man Takes $29.9 Million Oyster Bay Estate Off Market: Report

He originally purchased the property, now dubbed MiddleSea, back in 2002, according to The Post.

CENTRE ISLAND, NY — Long Island's Piano Man has taken his 21-acre waterfront estate, known as MiddleSea, off the market, according to the New York Post.

The Post reported that Billy Joel took the North Shore mansion listing down after a "revamped sales plan – and a subsequent price chop – failed to seal the deal."

Emmett Laffey, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Laffey International Realty, handled the listing and could not immediately be reached for comment when Patch reached out.

The Centre Island mansion is located in the Town of Oyster Bay in an upscale residential area. It was originally listed under $50 million during a massive renovation, which lasted more than five years, the Post said.

Fox Business reported that the Grammy Winner purchased the home in 2002 for $22.5 million – he initially purchased 14 acres before buying two neighboring pieces of land for $4.95 million each, creating MiddleSea.
